About Top-Down Arena

Free browser games · no download · no account

Our mission is simple: make fast, fair and genuinely fun multiplayer games that anyone can play in a few seconds, on any device, for free.

Who we are

Top-Down Arena is an independent project created by a small team of game developers and long-time arcade fans. We grew up on quick, competitive games where a single match took only a few minutes and every round taught you something new. We wanted to bring that feeling to the open web, without launchers, installers or expensive hardware.

What we build

Our games are top-down shooters that run entirely in your web browser. Today you can choose from four modes: a balanced Classic 1v1 Duel, a four-fighter Mini Battle Royale with a shrinking toxic zone, a long-range Sniper Outpost and a close-quarters Shotgun Corridor. Each mode has its own map, weapon and rhythm.

Our principles

How we pay the bills

The games are free. We aim to cover hosting and development time with advertising on our content pages, such as guides and game descriptions, once it is approved. We never display ads during a match, and we place them away from game controls so you do not click one by accident.

How the technology works

The game runs in the browser using HTML5 canvas. Multiplayer is peer-to-peer using WebRTC, so two players connect directly to each other. Our server only delivers web pages. You can read more in our article on how modern HTML5 games run without lag.

What you will find here

Top-Down Arena (RumbleZone) combines a free browser game with written guides. Each game mode has its own page that explains the rules, the controls and the strategy, and the How to Play page and the Gaming Resources page collect the general help in one place.

How the games are presented

The game itself runs in your browser and is shown inside a frame on each game page. Everything else, including the guides and legal pages, is plain text delivered by our server, so it is readable without running the game. The values we describe in the guides, such as damage, ammo and reload times, come directly from how the game is set up.
